Following the Truth Frequency (1/2)

Part 1 — Listening to the Inner Voice

Have you ever asked yourself:

How do I choose what to do in the present moment ? How can I take a decision in the present moment that is aligned with my path, that follows my intuition, that represents another step on my path to evolution and to creating a life that fulfills me ? How do I understand whether a particular thought or idea comes from my intuition or my ego ?

I have. And I have tried many times to find the answers. They didn’t come. Why ? Because I was always in my head trying to get clarity using logic. The answer to these questions has come from an experience I lived yesterday. I’m not saying this is the only, right opinion. It’s just my point of view. Feel free to share your answers, your experience if you want. I’ll be very happy to read it and know your point of view.

After dropping my kids to school and coming back home yesterday morning, I had two apparent desires: going into the forest, next to my house, and spend a few minutes there or “enjoy a coffee” before sitting at my desk. I felt like doing both at first…the idea of staying inside, in the warmth was appealing. But when I dug a little bit deeper, I understood that behind this second idea there was a sense of laziness (it’s cold outside and the daylight is not much) but also urgency to get going with my day (it’s Monday morning Martina, are you so irresponsible to even think about going out in the forest when you’re already behind with all the things that you have to do today??! Don’t be ridiculous!). So I know that I would have ended up drinking the coffee while turning on the computer, thinking about all the tasks that awaited me and of course, cleaning up a few of my kids’ toys, here and there.

I paused for a second and asked myself: what do I truly feel like doing in this precise moment? I felt the pull to go into the forest. I reminded myself how good I feel every time I spend some alone time in nature. And so there was no confusion anymore.

If you ever feel unsure about what to choose in the present moment, you might want to pause and ask yourself:

Why am I choosing this? What is really moving me underneath this choice?

Am I choosing something because it feels comfortable, safe, familiar?Because it feels right for my mind or my sense of productivity? Or am I choosing something that feels aligned in my body, even if it doesn’t make logical sense?

We often choose what feels right for our mind and our ego, without pausing to question it. But when we choose from the body, from the heart, from intuition, we often step into something that looks counter-productive on paper — and yet, that’s often where life shifts.

Going back to my final decision to go out…little did I know that choosing what felt right inside me yesterday at 8.15 am would make me understand a very important thing: a simple decision, such as going out in nature for 5 minutes on an apparently ordinary Monday morning can literally change the trajectory of your life. Because that’s what happens when we take decisions that follow our intuition and what we really feel like doing in the present moment.

If I had stayed home I wouldn’t have experienced what I have in the forest and back home, after the walk. That simple decision has reminded me that when we follow our intuition things unfold in unexpected ways. Simple moments become divine interventions. And when we follow that decision, magic happens.

As I was standing in the forest, surrounded by trees, my eyes were closed. I was listening to the birds, to the wind. I was fully present. I opened my eyes and I saw a squirrel moving fast, jumping from one branch to another with such delicacy, such harmony, such elegance. In that moment, I felt deeply grateful.

Not grateful for something. I was gratitude.

It wasn’t a practice. It wasn’t something I was trying to feel. It arose from my heart and permeated my entire body.

I went back home feeling different and kept thinking about what had happened and what it meant to follow my intuition. That moment showed me the difference between practicing gratitude and being gratitude.

But it didn’t end there.

Something else unfolded.

I’ll share what followed in Part 2.
